What We Know About Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi's Upcoming Wedding
Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi recently got engaged, which means wedding planning is officially underway. After initially meeting via Instagram DMs, the young couple went public with their romance two years ago. Apparently, things just clicked between them from the start. "After we met we knew we never wanted to leave each other's side," Brown told The Sunday Times on Aug. 27. "You can't pinpoint why, it's just the feeling of knowing that that's the person you want to spend the rest of your time with. I think so much of life is overthinking. The one thing that made clear sense to me was him. So I didn't really have to do much thinking."
In April, Bongiovi, who's the son of singer Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley, popped the big question to the "Stranger Things" star with a gorgeous engagement ring. "I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all," Brown captioned their engagement announcement, quoting lyrics from Taylor Swift's "Lover."
Two months after Bongiovi proposed, the pair celebrated with an intimate engagement party with family and friends. On June 1, Brown's hairstylist and makeup artist offered a glimpse at the soirée on Instagram, sharing photos of the couple posing next to a "Mr. and Mrs. Bongiovi" sign.
"I feel it's important to keep those things, those small precious moments in life, really close to your chest."
Aside from a few loved-up snaps on social media, Brown and Bongiovi have kept their relationship relatively private and continue to do so as they prepare to say "I do." In an interview with WWD published on Aug. 14, Brown said wedding planning thus far is "so fun" and "such an exciting time in my life," though she didn't divulge any specific details. She shared her intention to keep plans under wraps, "just because there are only so many moments in life that you get only once." She added, "To have everyone's opinions and eyes looking at that just feels unnatural to me. So I feel it's important to keep those things, those small precious moments in life, really close to your chest."
As for how the wedding planning is going, Brown revealed that it's been a painless process in a Sept. 15 interview on "Today," explaining, "It has not been stressful at all for me. Jake is very involved. He's very helpful during the whole process. I've never felt alone in it, which I think is really nice. I'm always like, 'Is this a good idea? Is this a good idea?' But ultimately, it's just a very intimate day for the both of us and we're really both very excited."

Will Jon Bon Jovi Perform at Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi's Wedding?
During her appearance on "Today," Brown clarified that her future father-in-law will not have performing duties at the wedding, and there's a good reason why. "I feel like that's asking me to go and do a full-on play for everyone," she said. "I think the man needs a break, he doesn't stop. He's always doing tennis or singing lessons. I think he needs a break. A three-hour break."
Millie Bobby Brown's Engagement Ring
Bongiovi proposed to Brown with a round-cut solitaire diamond engagement ring, estimated to be anywhere from 3 to 3.5 carats. The large center stone is highlighted by her simple, thin gold band.
In her interview with The Sunday Times, Brown revealed that the ring actually belonged to her mom, Kelly. "I've always loved that ring. It's always stuck out to me, so she gave it to Jake," Brown said. "They were in cahoots about the whole proposal. I love that I can always keep a piece of my mum with me."
Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi's Engagement Party
In early June, the pair toasted to their engagement at a party surrounded by their loved ones. Brown wore a lace set from Giambattista Valli for the occasion, which included a cropped bra top and matching skirt, while Bongiovi wore a sleek green suit.
Millie Bobby Brown's Wedding Dress
Though it's unclear whether Brown has said "yes" to the dress yet, it sounds like she may be eyeing a minimalist wedding gown. In her interview with WWD, she said her style has seen many phases, but she's now "landed in this very simple, soft fabric [stage]." "Everything is very laid back and simple and easy and on the go," she shared. Perhaps her wedding dress will reflect the actor's current sartorial direction.
Brown also told The Sunday Times that she's received a number of offers from designers willing to craft a dress for her, and noted that she's currently "weighing up options." Still, she emphasized, the event is "not about what I wear."
